Go kart fans and drivers are anxiously awaiting to see if mother nature will allow them to get opening night at Little Sunset Speedway in on Friday, May 2 or if she will throw the black flag on their plans.
"I know the kids and adults who are involved with Little Sunset are itching to go for the 2008 season," said track promoter Ed Kosiski. "We hope to get in the first night, especially since it is a non points night and we were not able to hold any practice sessions."
The opening points night for the 2008 season is Friday, May 23 and the two Fridays before that are non points nights.
Gates will open at 5:30 p.m., with hot laps and driver check in at 7:00 p.m., and racing at 7:30 p.m. Hot pit passes are $15, cold pit passes are $10 and grandstand admission is $5.
Little Sunset Speedway is part of the Nebraska Raceway Park complex, which is located between Omaha and Lincoln, off interstate 80, at exit 420. For more information, please visit the www.neracewaypark.com website.
